Pascha 2014

Christ is Risen! Indeed He is Risen!

What a wonderful Pascha (Easter for our protestant and Roman friends) the Chases had. Our celebration started with Great and Holy Friday. On this day we remember the Lord's Crucifixion and Death on the Cross for our Salvation.

Dad was the reader at the Passion Matins in the morning. Mom and Noah joined dad for the Ninth Hour at the foot of the cross in the afternoon.

We worship Thy passion, O Christ. We worship Thy passion, O Christ. We worship Thy passion, O Christ. Show us also Thy glorious resurrection.

On Holy Saturday, mom had to work so dad went to church for Jerusalem Matins and grandma and grandma watched Noah. Then we went and celebrated Aunt Ashley's 29th birthday.

On the Feast of Feasts we got up early and went to Church for Paschal Matins and Divine Liturgy. We drove up as the procession around the Church was just getting started. It was very moving to sing, "Christ is Risen from the dead, by death he trampled death, and to those in the tomb he grated life."

After Liturgy we went downstairs to the social hall for the blessing of the Paschal baskets.

Fr. Robert (our spiritual father and pastor, whose last day is tomorrow), Fr. Matthew (our new pastor), and Fr. Deacon Artur.

Later in the afternoon we went to Aunt Ashley's for Easter dinner and an egg hunt.

Looking for eggs.

Noah had a long but exciting day. Glory to God for His Son.

Happy Easter,

Noah at Eleven Months

Noah is eleven months old now! One more month until his one year birthday! Janette and I could have never imagined the joy that Noah has brought to our lives.

Here are some pictures we took before we went to church this morning.

I'm a big boy!

A very serious standing pose.

Noah the Duck Commander

One of mom and dad's favorite television shows is A&E's Duck Dynasty. Dad loves to wear his Duck Commander t-shirt around the house. Nett loves to say "Jack" like uncle Si. We really enjoy watching this wholesome and entertaining show.  It makes us "happy, happy, happy."

Noah has taken to liking ducks or as we call them the "quack, quacks" (after the sound they make). Usually, he plays with two small rubber ducks when he takes a bath in our kitchen sink. Well, tonight Noah saw his new duck bath tub. (after daddy, with an assist from mommy, blew it up for him) He loved sitting in his new big duck!

Noah the future Duck Commander. He is "happy, happy, happy" in his new duck.

Noah is five months old!

It has been a while since we updated the blog with some more photos of our little Noah. He has grown so much over these five months!

A big adventure that we have been having is trying to get him use to sleeping in a crib, away from mom and dad. The first two nights were a little tricky for us but after that he took to sleeping in his room just great! Still, he does end up in our bed in the wee early hours before dad goes to work.

He has turned into a rolling pro. Our eyes are never off him when he is on the ground, couch, changing table, or our bed, since he loves to roll from his back to his stomach.

Before we know it he will be crawling all over our house.

Though not all of his first have been great. He has caught his first cold.

Still, we couldn't be more happier with our little man.

See you all soon! Come and visit anytime!
